How to Make 3-D Paper Snowflakes

These 3-d paper snowflakes are easy to make, very inexpensive, and you can use whatever colors or patterns you like for your holiday or winter party.

What you'll need

  • For each snowflake:
  • 8 sheets of paper, in squares
  • Scissors
  • Tape or stapler
  • Hole punch, with thread or fishing line, for hanging (optional)

How to make it

  1. Take a square piece of paper, and fold it diagonally into a triangle, then in half into another triangle.

  2. Make two cuts, parallel to the longest side, almost to the end.

  3. Open completely, folded crease-side down.

Fold the smallest flaps in, overlapping each other and tape.

  5. Turn it over, and fold the medium flaps in, overlapping each other and tape.

  6. Turn over again, and fold the largest flaps in, overlapping each other and tape.

  7. Repeat the process above to create 8 sections.

Line up each section so that each is aligned the same way. Staple or tape the 8 pieces together, into a chain.

  9. Staple in a ring by stapling the center points together.

  10. If you like, punch a hole in the top point and string through with thread or fishing line.

    Enjoy your 3-d paper snowflakes!
