Here's the manger for Baby Jesus.

What you'll need

  • Small cardboard tube
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Decorative moss (we used American Moss Natural by Fiberex) or raffia

How to make it

  1. Away in a Manger: The Manger - Step 1

Cut a cardboard tube to a length slightly longer than your Baby Jesus. Next, cut it in half lengthwise. Trim an inch off the end of one half for the base.

  2. Away in a Manger: The Manger - Step 2

Trim the base so it's narrower than the cradle. Staple together the pieces as shown, then bend down the cradle sides. Fill the bottom of the cradle (and later, the stable) with moss.
