Bike Tube
Total Time 30 minutes or less Ages school-age

This lightweight, easy-on, easy-off tube lets kids safely carry keys, candy, sunglasses, a treasure map — any small essentials.

What you'll need

  • Clean snack can with a plastic lid (we used a Pringles Light can, which is shorter than a regular Pringles can)
  • Con-Tact paper
  • Craft knife
  • 2 (14-inch) lengths of hook-and-loop wrap (we used Velcro One-Wrap)
  • Paper fastener
  • Duct tape

How to make it

  1. Cover the outside of the can with Con-Tact paper.

  2. For the straps, use a craft knife to cut small slits in the center of the two pieces of hook-and-loop wrap and in the can where shown.

  3. Insert a paper fastener through each strap and into the can, then open the arms and secure them inside the can with duct tape. Wrap the straps around the handlebars.
