Plan an Out-of-This-World Party!

Cover the Styrofoam balls with foil. To smooth out large bumps, roll them over a hard, flat surface.
For each ball, cut two 12-inch lengths of yellow ribbon and 2 of orange. Stack the ribbons, then place a Velcro dot at the stack's center and stick it to the ball. Stick 5 more Velcro dots, evenly spaced, on the ball's surface.
Fold the sheet of black felt in half so that it is 36 inches long (the 2 layers provide padding that helps the comets stick). Apply foam tape between the 2 layers to keep the felt folded.
Cut out a sun shape from the orange felt, about 5 1/2 inches in diameter. Cut circles from the other colored felts: our yellow sun center and the blue planet measure 3 1/2 inches in diameter; our other planets measure 3 and 2 1/2 inches.
Glue the yellow and orange pieces together, then glue the sun to the center of the black felt.
With the marker, draw 3 oval orbits on the black felt. Paint over them with the puffy paint. Let it dry. Glue the planets over the orbit tracks as shown. Using puffy paint, you can also outline the planets and add point values within each orbit.
Use pushpins to hang the game on a wall. Use tape to mark a throwing line on the floor 5 feet from the board.
