My son has a new obsession with The Incredibles. Ever since we got our new Disney Infinity game, he has been asking to watch the movie and to pretend he's Mr. Incredible or his son, Dash. This week, I decided to surprise him with my own version of a Mr. Incredible-inspired T-shirt he can wear on any day or dress it up and use it as a costume for Halloween.
The look on his face when I gave it to him is one I will always cherish. I could tell he felt as heroic as Mr. Incredible and I saw him as the incredible little boy he is to me. My hero!
To make the logo, I used the instructions from the Mr. Incredible cupcakes, here on Spoonful. The project was very easy and, since my sewing skills are very (extremely) basic, I made good use of my hot glue gun. I even had time to make a mask. I might not know how to sew, but to my son, I am now a super mom!
And I am going to get started on another one just like it very soon... because my daughter wants to be Violet.
Trace a larger oval and a circle (for the dot on the i) on the yellow felt and a smaller oval and a thin and short rectangle on the black felt. (See next picture)
Cut the shapes you had traced, and then, cut the black oval in two. Note that it is not cut down the middle but a little to the left.
Use the hot glue gun to put all the pieces together and onto the T-shirt. Please look at the Mr. Incredible cupcakes tutorial for directions.
(Optional) With a pencil, trace the mask and eye holes. Then, use a precision knife to cut.
Use precision knife to make holes on the sides and securely tie elastic cord to both ends to hold it in place.
