  • Craft glue
  • 6 foot thin ribbon or yarn
  • Hole punch
  • Football garland pattern
Helpful Tip:

Print and add your favorite team's logo to the helmet.

How to make it

  1. Print and cut out one each of the football, helmet, football thread, and helmet air hole circle patterns.

  2. Use the helmet pattern to trace and cut out 6 helmets from a sheet of cardstock in your favorite teams color.

  3. step 3

Use the football pattern to trace and cut out 6 footballs from the brown card stock.

  4. Use the football thread pattern to trace and cut out 18 threads.

  5. step 5

Use the small helmet circle pattern to trace and cut out 6 small air hole circles.

  6. Punch 2 holes (one on each end as marked on the pattern) in each helmet and in each football (see photo).

  7. step 7

Glue 3 football threads to the center of each football, so they look like the white stitching on a real football.

  8. Glue one small air hole circle to each helmet where marked on the pattern.

  9. Use a piece of ribbon to string the helmets and footballs together, alternating one football and one helmet, until all twelve pieces are strung. String the helmets and footballs about 1 to 2 inches apart.

  10. Hang your football garland above the doorway, on the fireplace mantle, or the front of your party table. You can also use it to decorate a kids bedroom, or a game room.
