How to Make an Egg Carton Garden
Total Time 30 minutes or less Ages all-ages

My family is very prolific when it comes to Easter egg coloring.  I have 5 dozen eggs in the fridge ready for the big event.

There is a lot of slightly pastel egg salad in our future.

5 dozen eggs means 5 empty egg cartons just in time for spring planting!  I love to recycle the cartons to start seedlings with the kids.  They love to watch their tiny kitchen counter gardens grow in the window-filtered sunlight.

What you'll need

  • Egg Carton(s)
  • Potting Soil
  • Seeds
  • Plastic or Newspaper

How to make it

  2. Step 2 - scoop dirt into egg carton

Scoop dirt into the egg carton.

  3. Step 3 - choose seeds to plant

Choose seeds to plant in each of the dozen spaces.

  4. Step 4 - watch egg carton garden grow
