It's a W-R-A-P

Loopy and frilly, this fabric-wrapped wire initial looks great hanging on a bedroom wall.

What you'll need

  • Paper-wrapped floral wire
  • Scissors
  • Colorful fabric scraps
  • Tacky glue
  • Yarn
  • Embellishments (charms, fabric flowers, artificial butterflies)

How to make it

  1. Form a cursive letter from a piece of paper-wrapped floral wire (our letter is about 5 1/2 inches tall).

  2. Cut scraps of colorful fabric into 1/2-inch-wide strips.

  3. It's a W-R-A-P - Step 3

Attach one end of a fabric strip to the wire letter with a dot of tacky glue, then wrap the fabric around the wire to cover it. When you reach the end of the strip, either glue it to the wire and overlap the end of the next strip, or tie the old and new strips together.

  4. Continue wrapping until the entire letter is covered. Wrap a piece of yarn or two around the letter for decoration, and glue on charms, fabric flowers, artificial butterflies, or other embellishments.
