Ariel is so gorgeous that it only makes sense that every little girl I know wants to look just like her. Now they can have the perfect fishtail manicure with this easy DIY Mermaid Nail Tutorial.

These nails are fairly easy, but remember-- you're working with nail polish and it's permanent!

What you'll need

  • Teal Nail Polish
  • Gold Nail Polish
  • Quick Dry Top Coat

How to make it

  1. Step 1 Ariel Tail Nails

Start with a teal nail. It might take a couple of coats to get full coverage if you're using a gllittery nail polish.

  2. Step 2 Arie Taill Nails

After you dip the brush into the gold nail polish, wipe almost all of the polish off. There should be hardly any polish left on the brush. (This is kind of like dry-brushing for all your artists out there.)

  3. Step 3 Ariel Tail Nails

With the gold polish on the dry brush, start at the very base of the nail and swipe it on. You don't want to go all the way up, because the tip of the nail should stay teal.

  4. Step 4 Ariel Tail Nails

You may have to get more paint on your brush a couple of times, or just flip your brush over. You want more coverage near the base of the nail, so you might have to go over that part more than once.

  5. Step 5 Ariel Tail Nails

Make sure to get the edges. This is the part that's hardest to cover with the dry polish brush.

  6. Step 6 Ariel Tail Nails

When you're finished, before it's completely dry-- add a topcoat to sort of blend the two colors and to protect your awesome Little Mermaid Nail Design.

  7. Step 7 Ariel Tail Nails

Repeat the same thing on all your other nails, and you're ready for your under the sea adventure!
