Little Miss Spider Costume
Total Time 30 minutes or less

Got an old ballet tutu, some eyeliner and glittery eye shadow? If so, then you've also got the makings for this creepy-crawly costume.

What you'll need

  • Black tights, leggings or sweatpants
  • Black leotard, t-shirt, or sweatshirt
  • Tutu
  • Plastic spiders, glitter or plain is fine (optional)
  • Black eyeliner pencil, sharpened
  • Purple eye shadow
  • Red lipstick
  • Glitter eye shadow

To make Little Mister Spider, dress your son in black sweats and perhaps stay away from the glitter. It might also be fun to drape him with some fake spider webbing if you have any that you've used in your Halloween decorations.

How to make it

  1. Dress your child first so you don't smear their face.

  2. Pull hair back into a ponytail, half ponytail or bun, if desired.

  3. Carefully draw web shapes, fanning out from the outside corner of the each eye, onto the temples.

  4. Draw a spider in between the eyes, on the bridge of the nose by first drawing two upside down teardrops stacked on top of each other. Then carefully draw two legs going down the side of her nose on each side, starting at the spider's waist, and two legs going up onto the forehead from each side of the spider's waist.

  5. Fill in the spider webs with purple eye shadow.

  6. Put glittery eye shadow on the upper eyelids and in a thin line under the eyes. Try patting some glittery shadow around the spider.

  7. Paint a red dot on the spider's abdomen with red lipstick, if desired.

  8. Attach plastic spiders to your child's hair and outfit using bobby pins or safety pins, if using.
