Make Ribbon
Ages all-ages

All it takes are a few candy stripes to turn an ordinary mailing tube into a sweet container for someone's favorite movie poster, a kite, a family flag or even an ice-fishing pole.

Wrap the mailing tube with white paper. (Of course, if you happen to have a white mailing tube, you can skip this step.) Cut a piece of ribbon to measure twice as long as the height of the tube and then use a glue stick to coat one side. Stick an end of the ribbon to the top of the tube, then turn the tube slowly, wrapping the ribbon around it as you go until you reach the bottom of the tube. Trim the ribbon ends flush with the ends of the tube. Use the same method to glue on a second ribbon of a contrasting color or width.
