Origami Paper Cup
Total Time 30 minutes or less Ages school-age

Can you drink from a piece of paper? Give partygoers a crash course in roughing it in the wild with this easy-to-learn survival skill. Collapsible cups are standard camping gear, but with a piece of paper and some origami know-how, young adventurers can create their own drinking vessel in a pinch. Give kids a square of paper and printouts of the directions. Be sure to have a canteen nearby for testing the finished products.

What you'll need

  • Paper

How to make it

  1. Starting with one point at the bottom, fold the paper corner to corner to form a triangle.

  2. With the point facing up, fold the corners in at an angle (they will overlap).

  3. Fold the front point forward and the back one back, then pop open the cup.
