Homemade Peekaboo Valentine Card
Total Time 1 hour Ages all-ages

Here's what we know: more than 90 percent of kids want a valentine for their grandparents. Here's what we suspect: more than 90 percent of grandparents love nothing more than their grandchildren's faces. Merge that data and you get this valentine, a wide-eyed favorite for all ages.

What you'll need

  • Red card stock
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Photocopy of a photo of the giver (with eyes the right size to peep through hole-punch holes)
  • Hole punch
  • Glue stick or double-sided tape-marker

How to make it

  1. Fold the card stock in half and draw a heart shape with one side along the fold to form a hinge (we used a heart-shaped cookie cutter for a pattern). Cut out the heart, keeping the hinge intact.

  2. Measure the distance between the eyes on your photocopy. Use a pencil to mark that distance on the top heart and punch out the eyeholes with a hole punch.

  3. Peekaboo Valentine - Step 3

Cut the photocopy to fit inside the card and glue or tape it in place, lining up the eyes with the eyeholes. Write "Peekaboo!" on the front of the card, and inside, write "I love you" and any message you like.
