Pet TV
Total Time 1 hour Ages all-ages

Be they hamsters or lizards or hermit crabs, small animals have star quality--so why should they put up with ho-hum habitats? Grab some craft foam and transform the outside of your terrarium into a television that's always tuned to the nature channel.

What you'll need

  • Craft foam
  • Glue
  • Empty candy box
  • Construction paper

How to make it

  1. Use craft glue to stick craft-foam buttons to a foam control panel. Use more craft foam to create a backdrop.

  2. Use more craft foam to create a backdrop. Tape the control panel and the backdrop to the outside of the tank.

  3. Pet TV - Step 3

To make a remote control, cover a small box, such as a candy box, with construction paper (leaving the top flaps open), glue on foam buttons, and fill it with your pet's favorite snack.
