Pretty Plastic Pocketbook

It's a cinch to use sequins and spangles to transform an office-supply staple into a sleek, modern handbag.

What you'll need

  • Poly envelope with Velcro closure (we purchased ours at Target)
  • Hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Embellishments, such as trim or appliqués
  • Double-sided foam tape

How to make it

  1. Open the poly envelope and punch a hole in each side, about 1 inch from the top.

  2. Cut a length of ribbon long enough for a strap. Thread the ribbon through the holes and tie a knot at each end (inside the bag) to secure it.

  3. Decorate the purse by attaching the embellishments with the tape.
