Princess Gown Holiday Ornaments

Decorated with sparkly glitter glue and paper doily ruffles, these paper gowns -- modeled after the ones worn by Cinderella, Aurora, and Belle -- are designed to dress up a tree or wreath. After the holidays, instead of storing them away with the other ornaments, you can let your child use them to mark pages in her favorite storybooks.

- Scissors
- Scrapbook paper (two shades of blue, two shades of pink, two shades of yellow, and white)
- Thin cord
- Glue dots
- Glue stick
- Colored pencils or fine-tipped markers
- Glitter glue
- Small paintbrush
- Paper doily (optional)
How to make it
Print and cut out the template pieces. Cut the gown pieces out of scrapbook paper as specified on the templates.
For each gown, make a hanger out of thin cord and use a glue dot to attach it to the top of the gown back, as shown. Then glue the two gown pieces together back-to-back matching up all the edges.
Glue a pair of waist ruffles onto the front and back of the Cinderella gown, as shown. Then glue on the sleeve caps.
For Aurora's gown, glue on the waist trim pieces (one on each side of the gown). Then glue on the bodice pieces followed by the neckline pieces.
For Belle's gown, accordion-fold the skirt ruffle pieces as shown and then glue one to each side of the gown.
Glue on the gown tops.
For the finishing touches, draw on additional fold and ruffle lines and let your child accent them with glitter glue. You can even glue a strip cut from a paper doily to the bottom of Cinderella's gown to create a lacy hem.
