This homemade recipe card holder will help Mom in the kitchen by freeing up counter space and allowing hands-free recipe viewing. Not to mention, it will remind Mom of your love each time she cooks.
Parental supervision is recommended
Purchase a small, plastic, plant pot to decorate. You can also use a clean, empty yogurt cup.

One option is to decorate your pot or yogurt cup with stickers. You can also use pretty paper to jazz it up. Apply craft glue to the outside of your yogurt cup or pot.

Cut your fancy paper in a strip wide enough to cover your pot or yogurt cup. Carefully apply it to the surface of the pot or cup where you put your craft glue. Let it dry.
Mix up a batch of plaster of Paris (with parental supervision; follow the directions on the bag or box) and fill each pot three-quarters full.

Let the pot stand for moment, until the plaster begins to set, then insert a plastic fork (stick the handle in the plaster, tines pointing up). You can also use an inexpensive metal fork and have an adult seperate the head of the fork from the base.
You could also add sprigs of silk flowers while the plaster is still wet.
Let the plaster dry thoroughly.
Put Mom's favorite recipe card in the fork.
