I enjoyed your typical dyn-o-mite '70s childhood: when I wasn't watching "Welcome Back, Kotter" or slicking on more Dr Pepper Lip Smacker from the gi-normous tube strung around my neck, I was finger weaving a scarf for my Shaun Cassidy doll or a hammock for my Pet Rock. But the groovy something-from-nothing alchemy of the era's funky, low-tech projects is truly timeless. This is why we're psyched to offer you a "best of" compilation of craftsy blasts from the past that recall the wholesome days of sand and yarn, stringing and braiding, and, of course, plastic melting in the oven. So plug in your lava lamp and slip on your bell-bottoms: your kids may not dig the nostalgia factor, but they'll know an outta-sight craft when they see it.
