This simple collage project introduces your child to the phenomenon of perspective.

What you'll need

  • Green, blue, and white construction paper
  • Glue stick
  • Colored markers

How to make it

  1. Help your child cut out a couple of grassy hills from the green construction paper. Glue them onto a sheet of blue paper so that the top of the first hill slightly overlaps the bottom of the second hill, and the top of the blue paper resembles the sky, as shown.

  2. From the white paper, cut or tear out a bunch of sheep in a variety of sizes. Glue them onto the green paper so that the larger ones are along the bottom edge of the landscape and the smallest are nearer the top. Then use markers to add faces and legs. Doesn't it look like your flock is wandering away?
