Get into the spirit and be pinch proof for St. Patrick's Day with a fun shamrock T-shirt. I never plan what I'm going to wear for simple holidays, like St. Patrick's Day, but when the day comes, I'm wishing I had the perfect shirt. And now I do!
I love the mystery of using bleach to create a fun shirt. You never really know how it's going to turn out. I used a 1:1 ratio of water and bleach and was delighted when mine came out with a bit of an ombre affect. I thought I'd touch up the shamrock with the bleach pen to give it a more defined line, but just the opposite happened, which I think gives it a more artistic feel. This can easily be worn to the gym, with jeans or dress it up a little with a colorful scarf and jacket. I'm in love with my new bleach t-shirt and can't wait to wear it!
If you want a more bleached out look, use a higher concentration of bleach in your spray bottle. This method works best on darker colors.
Experiment with other shapes, or barriers. Stencils, doilies, or shaped objects make interesting t-shirts.

Gather and assemble your supplies onto a drop cloth either outside or in a garage. I filled the water bottle with a 1:1 ratio of bleach and water.

Before placing your shamrock template onto your t-shirt, place a plastic cutting board or thick piece of cardboard inside the shirt to avoid your bleach mixture into absorbing into the backside of your t-shirt.

Spray your t-shirt with the bleach / water solution. When you think you've applied enough solution, remove your shamrock template and allow to dry.

Once your t-shirt is dry, use the bleach pen to trace the outside of the shamrock. Allow to dry completely before washing on cold.
Enjoy!
