Valentine Charm Pencil

We've got the write idea for that cool school pal: a bead-dangling pencil that's a real charmer.
Note: These are the materials needed to make one charm pencil.
What you'll need
- About 1 foot of narrow ribbon (ours is 1/8 inch wide)
- New pencil
- 4 beads (we used 12-mm heart-shaped beads and 6-mm round beads)
- Scissors
- Red card stock
- Tacky glue
- Marker or pen
Helpful Tip:
If the ribbon slides down the pencil, glue it in place.
How to make it
Tie the ribbon around the top of the pencil and secure it with a tight double knot, leaving 2 fairly even ends.
Thread the beads onto one end of the ribbon, knot the end at the length you want, and trim.
Cut 2 identical hearts from card stock. Glue the hearts together with the other half of the ribbon sandwiched inside as shown. Knot and trim the ribbon. Write a message on the heart.
