Yes, I Can!
Total Time 1 hour Ages school-age

This easy-to-make craft from Girl Scout leader Gail Costner of Dallas, North Carolina, turns recyclables into self-confidence boosters.

What you'll need

  • Old magazines
  • Clean can or other suitable container (Gail used recycled chip cans)
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How to make it

  1. Give your child some old magazines and the clean can or other container. Have her cut out images of things she can do, such as riding a bike, diving into a pool, and reading a book, then glue them to the side of the can. She'll have a constant reminder of her abilities and a handy place to store trinkets.
