Fun with fruits and vegetables to help picky eaters love them.

My mom was with us last week while we ate dinner and was surprised (and even chuckled) when I told my preschooler he had to wait to eat the tangerine he was holding in his hand until after he finished his dinner. It would be his dessert.

I’m not going to deny that my kids love cookies or candy, but when it comes to eating fruits and vegetables, I can proudly say they love them and can even be a little adventurous. But it wasn’t always like that with my son. Unlike his older sister, he would not accept unknown textures or tastes as a toddler ... and I refused to change my cooking habits to mask true food flavors.

I wanted to go beyond setting a good example and offering fruits and veggies at every meal. I wanted for him to grow fond of them and ask for them, and even though it is still a work in progress, we have come a long way with these fun tips.
