Personalized Condiment Bottles
Ages all-ages

With summer comes great weather, backyard barbecues, and Father's Day! Does Dad man the grill at your house? Every great backyard chef has his own special recipes, so this year, give Dad his own Personalized Condiment Bottles! The labels are quick and easy to make, are one of a kind, and a perfect Father's Day gift!

What you'll need

  • 1 red (ketchup) bottle
  • 1 yellow (mustard) bottle
  • 1 sheet of 4-inch x 2-inch mailing labels
  • clear packing tape (optional)
Helpful Tip:

  • Gift basket: These condiment bottles make a great addition to a barbecue-themed gift basket for father's day. Other suggestions for the basket: oven mitt, apron, barbecue tongs and spatula.
  • No Mailing Labels? Cut 4x2" pieces of paper and let your child decorate them. Attach to bottles with spray adhesive, and cover with packing tape, cutting tape to 1/4" around edges of label.
  • Pick up blank ketchup and mustard bottles at your local dollar store or big box store, or get clear plastic squeeze bottles in the candy-making section at your craft store.

How to make it

  1. Turn the sheet of labels sideways (so the labels are vertical—tall and skinny); they'll look better on the bottle this way.

  2. Prepare labels for your child, by drawing a colored box around each label (to remind the artist to keep the drawing within the label). If your child can't write yet, you might want to write "Daddy's Diner" or your desired text on the label, too. Alternately, you can pre-print the boxes and the logo on the label with your computer graphics program and printer.

  3. Let your child decorate the blank space on the label. If she needs inspiration, suggest she sketch something having to do with food, barbecues, or even Daddy's picture.

  4. When the labels are finished, stick them onto the bottles. Make sure they adhere securely to the bottles.

  5. If desired, cover labels with clear packing tape to cover and protect the artwork.
