Bird and Bark Card
Ages school-age

With this card, no binoculars are necessary to spy a pretty fowl! If your father loves the great outdoors, he'll really appreciate this bird-covered craft.

What you'll need

  • Cardstock (colored)
  • Tree bark
  • Pictures of birds (from magazines or computer print outs)
  • Twigs (small)
  • Design paper
  • Glue stick
  • Double-sided padded tape

How to make it

  1. Step 1: Cut 6" W x 12" L card using colored card stock.

  2. Fold every 4" (into an accordion shape).

  3. Cut out pictures of birds (one large and several small birds).

  4. Cut out 2½" W x 4½" L rectangle shape using design paper.

  5. Step 2: Glue large piece of bark to left side of first card panel.

  6. Apply double-sided padded tape to back of bird pictures.

  7. Affix one picture of a large bird on bark.

  8. Step 3: Place smaller birds on middle panel.

  9. Glue rectangle shape to center of third panel.

  10. Glue small twigs on all four (4) corners of rectangle shape.

  11. Glue a piece of bark to the top of the rectangle shape.

  12. Glue a piece of bark to the top of rectangle and a bird to the bottom right corner

  13. Optional: You can glue bird seed on card as well to give some added texture.
