Did you know you can make your own Marshmallow Fluff -- for the ultimate Marshmallow Treat Sundae? It's sooo good, too! Nothing store-bought even compares.

Follow this easy recipe for your own Marshmallow Fluff, add crispy rice cereal, and other sundae toppings, and voila! The ultimate Marshmallow Treat Sundae!

What you'll need

  • 3/4 cup granulated Sugar plus 1/8 cup granulated Sugar
  • 4 Egg Whites (you can use pasteurized eggs)
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • Crispy rice cereal
  • Your favorite sundae toppings
  • Ice cream!

How to make it

  1. First make a simple syrup: Stir 3/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water in a small pan over medium-high heat.

    Cook until the syrup reaches 240° F (115° C), then set aside to cool.

    If the syrup gets too cold and hardens, reheat it on low to liquify it again.

    Using an electric mixer or beaters, egg whites, salt, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl, on high, until frothy.

    Gradually add the 1/8 cup sugar, while continuing to whip until small peaks form.

  5. Reducing mixer to medium, slowly pour hot syrup in a steady stream, while mixing.

    Once all the syrup has been mixed in, switch to high and whip until stiff peaks form.

  7. Add scoops of your favorite ice cream(s!) to serving bowls, and top with your marshmallow fluff.

    You can use whatever sundae toppings you like, but for the ultimate Marshmallow Treat Sundae, you definitely need to include crispy rice cereal!
