What you'll need
- 8 boxes yellow cake mix,
- Buttercream icing 4 lbs. butter, 4 lbs. shortening and 8 lbs. confectioner sugar, 4 teaspoons vanilla, and 6 tablespoons almond emulsion for outside and filling of the top and middle cakes. Bottom cake filled with fresh strawberry filling made out of 1 t
How to make it
Bake four 9 inch (3 inches tall) yellow cakes each filled with 1 3/4 boxes of yellow cake to stack for the top and bottom layer. Filled top and middle cakes with buttercream cream icing.
Bake two six inch cakes (3 inches tall) filled with 1/2 box of yellow cake mix. Filled with fresh strawberry filling. Place dowel rod supports in bottom layer to support middle layer. Stack middle cake on bottom cake. Drive a long dowel rod through middle and bottom layer for travel support. Insert dowel rod supports in middle layer to support the top layer. Stack top layer.
Finishing touches were baby's bedding printed on rice paper attached to fondant pieces and outlined with colored royal to make the picture frames on the sides of top layer. Porcelain carousel horses. Red and white fondant on a cardboard structure made up tent top. Ribbon streamers tied from a dowel road coming out of the tent top to mini toothpick flags. Fondant polka dots on bottom layer. Striped peppermint sticks wrap the middle layer.
Ribbon wrap on bottom of top layer and bottom layer.
