The classic deviled egg has long been a crowd-pleaser, adapting to any occasion with ease and sophistication. Flute the filling through a pastry bag for a stylized effect, or add cayenne or curry spice for extra pizzazz.
A mainstay at picnics or holiday get-togethers, the deviled egg can be dressed up or down and fits almost any budget. Adjust the mustard to your own prefered spiciness level and add almost any herb or spice to the top at service time.
Cut each egg in half lengthwise and remove yolks to a bowl.
Mash yolks well and blend with mayo, mustard and salt.
Fill whites with yolk mixture using a spoon, a pastry bag or a plastic bag with the corner snipped off.
Sprinkle with Paprika, if desired and refrigerate, covered, until serving time.
