It looks like guacamole, but it's made with edamame -- it's guacamame! Served as a flavorful party dip or a novel sandwich spread, it's sure to be a healthy hit.

What you'll need

  • 1 pound shelled edamame (these soybeans are available in the frozen-foods section at grocery stores)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

How to make it

  1. Puree all the ingredients in a food processor or blender until the mixture is smooth. Makes 2 1/2 cups.
