Make cake according to package directions. Use 6in pan and 8 in pan. Cook according to package directions. While cake is cooking, color white fondant pink and roll out to 1/4 in thickness. Cut out shapes of skull and X. Wet the top of each shape slightly and sprinkle with sugar crystals. Let set until dried and stiff.
Once cake has cooled, frost bottom layer in white whipped. Place fondant X (for X marks the spot) and black dashes for map lines. Use left over white frosting tinted pink to put pink dots around bottom of cake. Frost top layer with chocolate whipped. Write pirate words around top layer with pink icing. With leftover chocolate icing, draw mouth and eye patch on skull. Let set for 5 minutes for icing to firm up. Place skull on top of cake.
Curl floral wire at one end and attach a pearl. Cut off excess and place in cake. Eat and enjoy all while wishing that special pirate lass a happy birthday!!
