Godzilla's Destruction Cake

This Great Cake Contest entry was submitted by Chef_Libby from Henryetta, Oklahoma: I made this for my son's 5th birthday. He absolutely adores Godzilla, even watches all of the old movies!!!

What you'll need

  • 2 Duncan Hynes Chocolate cake mixes, 2 lbs frosting, home made or can, Wilton icing colors cornflower blue, dark blue, lemon yellow, and black. 1 lb package Wilton fondant, red and black Wilton color mist spray. Vinyl Godzilla figure & die cast army vehi

How to make it

  1. Bake cake in 11 X 15 sheet pan, allow to cool on wire rack. When cool and firm, level with a bread knife. Frost with plain white cake frosting.

  2. Meanwhile, prepare Rice Krispies & shape into rectangles, removing portions for damage. Follow package instructions to roll out and color fondant. Cover buildings with a portion of white fondant. Color a portion of fondant black and cut into rectangles for windows. Shape small pieces into flames. Adhere all pieces to cake with small amounts of frosting. Spray lightly with black & red color mist spray. Insert dowels into bottoms of buildings.

  3. Color portions of frosting cornflower blue, dark blue, and lemon yellow. Pipe road, border, and script onto cake. Place buildings and figures onto cake where desired.
