Here’s a rub you won’t want to be without. It’s great on steak, poultry and pork. Make up a big batch to have on-hand.

What you'll need

  • 4 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 2 (1-1/2 pound) flat iron or London broil steaks, about 3/4 -inch thick
Helpful Tip:

Make-Ahead: Make a big batch of the rub to use anytime you want.

How to make it

  1. Heat oiled grill to medium-high. In a small bowl mix chili powder, brown sugar, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, garlic powder, salt and pepper to combine.

  2. Score steak lightly. Rub spice mix on steak.

  3. Grill 11 minutes, turning once, or until medium rare.
