Heirloom Tomato Salsa
What's your Take?
Prep Time 8 minutes

Nothing says summer like homegrown tomatoes and salsa in Texas. This recipe is my favorite salsa recipe as it's exploding with fresh flavors! We make this about once a week and serve it with everything from grilled foods to tacos.

What you'll need

  • 4 large heirloom tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 large clove garlic, peeled
  • 1 cup cilantro, roughly chopped
  • 2 fresno chilies or 1 small jalapeno
  • juice from 1 lemon
  • salt and pepper to taste
Helpful Tip:

Heirloom tomatoes are super flavorful tomatoes prized for their flavor and wide color variety. You can find them at most major grocery stores and specialty markets.

Notes:

makes about 2 cups

How to make it

  1. Place tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, chillies, and lemon juice in a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth and all incredients are combined. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over grilled meats and fish, tacos, or as a dip.
