Ice-Cream Treewiches
1 Unique Take
What's your Take?

Kids will love decorating these cookies as much as they do the real tree. Once they're made, keep a stash of them in the freezer to satisfy that holiday sweet tooth whenever it hits. The foundation of this recipe is the versatile dough that can be customized to create chocolate, colored, striped, or marbleized cookies.

What you'll need

Helpful Tip:

Instead of rolling out your dough on a floured surface, roll it out between waxed paper. The cookies will stay moist because extra flour is not incorporated during the rolling process.

How to make it

  1. Roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness between two pieces of waxed paper. Use the cookie cutter to cut out the trees. Bake as directed.

  2. Once cooled, attach the candy with icing to half the trees. Cut a 1/2-inch-thick slice off the ice-cream block and cut out ice-cream trees with the cookie cutter.

  3. Sandwich the ice-cream trees between the cookies, wrap in plastic bags, and freeze. Makes 24 Treewiches.
