The foundation of this recipe is the versatile dough that can be customized to create chocolate, colored, striped, or marbleized cookies.
What you'll need
- Colored cookie dough
- Christmas tree cookie cutter
- Candy "ornaments"
- Frosting
- Half-gallon block of ice cream
Instead of rolling out your dough on a floured surface, roll it out between waxed paper. The cookies will stay moist because extra flour is not incorporated during the rolling process.
How to make it
Roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness between two pieces of waxed paper. Use the cookie cutter to cut out the trees. Bake as directed.
Once cooled, attach the candy with icing to half the trees. Cut a 1/2-inch-thick slice off the ice-cream block and cut out ice-cream trees with the cookie cutter.
Sandwich the ice-cream trees between the cookies, wrap in plastic bags, and freeze. Makes 24 Treewiches.
