What's your Take?

Use our jar cooking method to cook up a simple, hearty Tex-Mex meal — an easy and satisfying dish for camping.

What you'll need

  • Cooked rice
  • Burrito ingredients like canned corn, salsa, shredded cheese, and beans or chili
  • Tortillas

How to make it

  1. Add a few spoonfuls of cooked rice to your prepared jar (with boil-in-bag rice, you can use your pot of water to make the rice before you start on the jars).

  2. Layer on your favorite burrito ingredients. Screw on the lid (not too tight) and place the jar carefully in the boiling water until the food is hot, about 10 minutes. Serve with warmed tortillas.
