Minnie Mouse Cake
What's your Take?

This Great Cake Contest entry was submitted by KAHACH from El Dorado Hills, California: My daughter went to Disneyworld for the first time and met Minnie Mouse, so "Minnie" was her theme for her 4th birthday.

What you'll need

  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can of vanilla frosting
  • 1 can of chocolate frosting
  • Wilton decorating colors
  • 1 box of Mentos candy
  • Cocoa Powder

How to make it

  1. Inside two 9 inch round cake pans, bake the chocolate cake according to package directions.

  2. Inside a 9 x 13 cake pan, bake the yellow cake according to package directions.

  3. Trim the rectangular yellow cake to be shaped like Minnie's face. Save the scraps and use to make her bow. Slightly trim the ears to attach to the face.

  4. Tint the chocolate frosting black. Tint 1/8 of the white frosting red. Add some cocoa powder to the white frosting until it becomes desired skin color. Frost cake and then smooth with knife. Draw on facial features. Add Mentos to bow to become polka dots."
