This Great Cake Contest entry was submitted by julspedsrn from Seaford, Delaware: This was a birthday cake for my grandmothers 70th surprise party. We bought the Boyd's bear and I made the cake to match.
What you'll need
- Duncan Hine Moist classic yellow and devils food cake mixes, buttercream icing and fondant icing.
How to make it
Bake and cool layered tiers according to package directions. Half the layers and fill with buttercream icing. Then flat ice the layers with white buttercream.
Place rods in the cake to support the weight of the Boyds bear, then decorate the sides with flowers of fondant and ribbon tips to match figure.
