Hummus is a traditional dip or spread typically served with pitas or as a side for spicy and savory entrees. Adding peanut butter sweetens the hummus, making it a perfect complent for fresh fruit and raw vegetables.

What you'll need

  • 1 can (16 oz.) chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup Jif® Omega-3 Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 cup Crisco® Puritan® Canola Oil with Omega-3 DHA or Crisco® 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon dark sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 tablespoon salt
  • Pita chips

Yields 1 cup

How to make it

  1. Blend canola or olive oil, peanut butter, chickpeas, lemon juice, sesame oil, garlic and salt in food processor until smooth. Stir in parsley.

  2. Serve with additional olive oil and pita chips.
