These can be tricky to make, but nothing is quite so soothing.

What you'll need

  • 2 eggs

How to make it

  1. Fill a skillet with water and bring to a boil. Lower the heat to simmer. Break an egg into a cup or saucer, stir the water in the skillet, and spill the egg into the center of the whirlpool you have created. Repeat with the second egg. Cook 4 or 5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon, drain briefly on a paper towel and serve on buttered toast. Makes 1 or 2 servings.
