Princess Carriage

This Great Cake Contest entry was submitted by Milaccio from Peoria, Illinois: A Princess Carriage, perfect for your little Princess, or her young Prince Charming.

What you'll need

  • Cake mix
  • Ball cake mold
  • Buttercream frosting
  • Cake icing and #16 frosting tip
  • Frosting bag
  • Sugar cookie recipe, flower cookie cutter
  • Sugar rods

How to make it

  1. Prepare cake mix as per directions, divide batter equally and place into each end of a Wilton ball mold. Remove from ball mold when cooled, and cut level portion of one side so cake will sit level. Place level cake on pedestal and frost top, then place top portion of ball on top of bottom. Frost ball completely. Using number 16 tip, decorate door and added accents.

  2. Bake sugar cookies using a flower cookie cutter. Place a 1/4" hole in center of cookie and decorate cookie. Place a sugar rod through 1/4" hole. Ice sugar rod to fix to cookie.

  3. Use Wilton grass tip to decorate base and add decorative flowers for accents.
