Santa Claus Cake

This Great Cake Contest entry was submitted by jescapades from East Berlin, Connecticut: this cake was made for Christmas 2007. it is alternate layers of chocolate and vanilla cake with peaches and cream filling.
 

What you'll need

  • 1 box vanilla cake mix
  • 1 box instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 2/3 cups vegetable oil
  • PEACHES AND CREAM FILLING
  • 1 8oz. package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 3-4 tablespoons milk
  • frozen peaches
  • Buttercream Frosting
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/8 cup all-purpose flour

How to make it

  1. Bake chocolate and vanilla cakes in heart shaped pan, according to package directions, adding in 1 box pudding and 1 extra egg.

  2. Combine ingredients to make peaches and cream filling and buttercream frosting.

  3. torte both cakes and fill with peaches and cream filling. frost with buttercream.

  4. create Santa's face with tinted and white buttercream frosting.
