We LOVE popcorn at home; we have it at least 3 times a week believe it or not! So making variation recipes of popcorn is fun. Once you discover that making different flavors of popcorn is really easy you'll be hooked like we are!
This dulce de leche popcorn is sugary sweet and salty -- very tasty! If you want to add a little extra flavor, add some sea salt once it's done!
Preheat Oven to 260°F.
If you can't find dulce de leche in the regular supermarket, you can make it with 1 can of sweetened condensed milk (300 ml aprox). Just peel off the label, place the unopened can in a pot filled with water (make sure the water covers the whole can), let it boil and then cover. Let it cook on low heat for 4 hours, always making sure there is enough water covering the can. After 4 hours, let it sit for 15 minutes and open the can.
Pour dulce de leche on a small pot and heat it up until it almost boils. Stir frequently: be careful not to burn it.
Place the popcorn in a large bowl. Pour the dulce de leche while is hot onto the popcorn and mix well.
Once the popcorn is well coated with the dulce de leche, spread it evenly on top of an oven tray lined with parchment paper (just one layer). If it all doesn't fit, cook one batch first and then another.
Bake for 20 minutes. Let it cool well afterwards and serve!
