New Destination for Digital Type 1 Diabetes Books and More

Lilly Diabetes and Disney have joined together to create special materials for families with type 1 diabetes, including popular books that cover real-life issues. Now you can visit T1everydaymagic.com to experience them instantly on your desktop or tablet! With the click of a button, you and your family can read digital versions of our great type 1 diabetes books for children and young adults.

Previously available by request only through your child’s diabetes healthcare provider’s office, the series includes three children’s books about Coco, a young monkey with type 1 diabetes, and five young adult novels about middle schoolers living with type 1. (Click here for more info on each of the books.) Currently, the first three selections of books are available for free in digital form on our new site, along with all the kid-friendly, carb-counted recipes from Dishing It Up Disney Style: A Cookbook for Families with Type 1 Diabetes. And don’t forget to keep checking in with us, because we’ll continue to add more digital books in the coming months.

The new site also features inspirational videos and other helpful resources by Disney and Lilly Diabetes, created especially for families like yours.

Plus, on the site you’ll find information about special Lilly initiatives that were created to help support your family, including:

•           The Lilly Camp Care Package. This initiative provides diabetes camps across the nation with educational resources and diabetes supplies to help kids with type 1 have fun at camp while learning to manage their diabetes.

•           The Diabetes Scholars Foundation. Lilly Diabetes is proud to support the Diabetes Scholars Foundation, which helps young people with type 1 diabetes achieve their dreams of going to college. 

•           The Lilly Diabetes Journey Awards. Successful diabetes management is essential to your child’s bright future. Through the Lilly Diabetes Journey Awards, we celebrate those who have successfully managed their diabetes with insulin for 25, 50 and 75 years.
